As a Visual/Interaction Design Intern at BET I was able to work on a new digital initiative; "BET Connect." BET Connect is the destination for urban media, integrating social influencers and user-generated content.
I led the entire design and prototypes for the mobile and desktop experience, while working closely with marketing and SDE interns. At the end of the internship we presented the entire experience to employees and leadership at Viacom.
Our goal was to create a digital hub within BET.com that would be a destination for urban media. The content would be populated by influencers and users. With this new concept, the team and I mapped out specific categories and content to curate to our audience in an experience that felt its own, but still keeping in mind BET branding. We introduced the leaderboard as a way to get users engaged by incentivizing user-generated content.
